We're proud to share with you, that after years of hard work and effort, the United Nations Organization has conferred on us the Consultative Status. This implies that we will cooperate with the ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) when you need information or advice on matters of our specialty, taking a strategic stake. This designation is a recognition of the trajectory that we have been building up from the Foundation, being related to the local and international human rights and democracy. The consultative nature gives us the possibility of being heard by a truly global audience and contribute to the agenda of the United Nations.
The ECOSOC is the principal body for coordination, policy review, policy dialogue, the suggestions on issues linked to the economic and social development and the implementation of the international development targets set out in the major conferences and summits of the United Nations, including the Goals for Sustainable Development. ECOSOC remains the only UN body with a formal framework for the participation of Ngos.
