A reward for our efforts. UN Consultative Status granted.

We are proud to share with you that, after years of hard work and effort, the United Nations has granted us Consultative Status. This means that we will cooperate with ECOSOC (the Economic and Social Council) when it needs information or advice on the issues in our area of expertise, playing a strategic role. This designation is a recognition of the track record we have been building at the Foundation as local and international leaders in human rights and democracy. Consultative status gives us the opportunity to be heard by a truly global audience and to contribute to the United Nations agenda.

ECOSOC is the principal body for coordination, policy review, policy dialogue and recommendations on economic and social development issues, as well as for the implementation of the international development goals agreed at the major United Nations conferences and summits, including the Sustainable Development Goals. ECOSOC remains the only UN body with a formal framework for NGO participation.
